The match gave Neil MacFarlane and his staff the chance to take a look at a number of Trialists as the group put in an impressive performance. The goals came from Joel Valencia, Ryan Trevitt and Roy Syla whilst some of the Trialists also found the net.

It was The Bees who started brightly as an early cross from the right on three minutes was met by the head of one of the forward Trialists who headed just over. It was 1-0 on 10 minutes when Valencia netted with precision after good play on the right saw Dom Jefferies cross low for the Brentford man to turn home first time with a low effort.

MPA then had a chance of their own on 17 minutes when some good interplay just outside the Brentford box saw a player take the ball past Ben Winterbottom before squaring into the path of a teammate who knocked the ball wide of goal from close range.

It became 2-0 to Brentford just after the 30-minute mark when a corner into the box was headed towards goal and it took a knock off of one of the Bees’ strikers before outwitting the goalkeeper and trickling over the line.

It was all change for The Bees at the break as the team was rotated with the likes of Ryan Trevitt, Roy Syla, Tristan Crama and Wraynel Hercules all gaining minutes. It was Trevitt who began his 45 minutes brightly as he crossed low four minutes after the break before a Trialist flicked wide.

It was 3-0 when Syla helped to win the ball back high before his low effort was well saved into the path of a Trialist to knock home from close range. That preceded the fourth on 65 minutes when Joe Adams put in a dangerous corner which was taken down cleverly by Crama before he crossed back in for a Trialist to tap in.

It was 5-0 on 70 minutes when Adams played in a low free-kick which found Trevitt and he swept home home with his left foot inside the near post. The pick of the goals then came with 12 minutes to play from Syla. As the ball was cleared to the edge of the box the midfielder struck a sweet volley from the edge of the box as the match finished 6-0.
