The game ended 2-2 and Halil grabbed Galatasaray’s first of the match to make the score 1-1 after the side had fallen behind earlier. It looked like Galatasaray would go on to win the match as Mbaye Diagne found the net with just over 10 minutes to play, but Daouda Bamba then struck late to ensure the points were shared. Halil’s side are seventh in the league table with 23 points.

As for Patrik Gunnarsson in Norway, his Viking Fk side claimed another win as they beat Odd 3-1 on home soil. They had to come from behind after an early goal for the away side. Sebastian Sebulonsen levelled things in first half stoppage time before a Veton Berisha penalty made it 2-1 to Viking just before the hour. The points were wrapped up as Samúel Friðjónsson made it 3-1 with 14 minutes to play. Patrik played the full 90 minutes as Viking guaranteed themselves European football next season.

In the UK it was Emirates FA Cup Second Round weekend and there was progression for both Aaron Pressley and Alex Gilbert.

Starting with Aaron’s AFC Wimbledon, two goals each from Ayoub Assal and Ollie Palmer sent The Dons into the Third Round as they beat Cheltenham Town 4-3 in an entertaining affair at Plough Lane. Cheltenham went ahead after just two minutes but The Dons managed to fight back and actually lead 4-1 going into the final 17 minutes of the match. A goal on 73 minutes from Cheltenham was added to by a Ben Heneghan own goal to make it 4-3 but Wimbledon held out to claim the win. Aaron played the final 22 minutes of the fixture and his side are away at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday evening.

Alex’s Swindon reached the Third Round for the first time in a decade with a 2-1 win over Walsall away from home. The goals came from Tyreece Simpson and Kaine Kesler-Hayden. Alex was an unused substitute for the side and they face Leyton Orient away from home on Tuesday evening in the league.

Its wasn’t such good news for Burton Albion as a Staffordshire derby saw them bow out of the competition at the hands of Port Vale on home soil. Ryan Leak headed Burton in front in the first half but two late goals from Dennis Politic condemned Albion to defeat. Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute on the day.

Finally, in Scotland Jaakko Oksanen grabbed an assist for Greenock Morton as they drew 2-2 with Ayr United. Gozie Ugwu grabbed both of the side’s goals but the draw wasn’t enough to prevent the departure of manager Gus MacPherson in the aftermath of the match. The side are eighth in the Scottish Championship but are level on points with the two teams who are directly below them in Dundermline and Queen of the South.
