With the borough seeing a rising number of cases, Hounslow Council are urging local residents to continue to take lateral flow tests before meeting up with friends and family to keep loved ones safe. Their information on lateral flow tests is available online.

They have underlined that vaccinations are the best defence against the virus; helping to reduce the risks of serious illness and protect our NHS.  First and second doses and boosters are all available at a wide range of sites across the borough. The Council’s website has essential information about how to book an appointment for a jab or attend a walk-in venue.

Kelly O’Neill, Director of Public Health in Hounslow, said:  “I have seen first-hand the impact of Covid on the NHS and the pressure it is has consistently put on services. We can all play our part in protecting the NHS by getting our two Covid vaccinations PLUS the booster jab, wearing masks and testing ourselves regularly. That way, all of us can enjoy Christmas safely.

“Remember that face coverings are essential in local shops for everyone unless they are exempt and police and Council enforcement officers do operate and can issue fines for those not wearing masks.   Although face coverings are not currently a legal requirement in hospitality venues such as cafes and pubs, it is sensible to wear them whilst moving around inside, to help protect yourself, fellow customers and staff. Can I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas.”
