On Saturday night, Club ambassador Marcus Gayle joined one of our biggest fans, Woody, and club mascot Buzz at Brentford Market Place to switch on the Christmas lights. Marcus led proceedings on stage and was pleased to see so many friendly faces in the crowd, despite the rain.

“It was a great night and I was honoured to join Woody and Buzz in representing Brentford FC to switch on the lights after the big countdown," said Marcus. “Events like this are important at this time of year. It’s a time to celebrate but also a time when the community needs to come together to look out for each other. Well done to the organisers and everyone involved.”

The event kicked-off a weekend of festivities which were enjoyed by hundreds of locals. Brentford School for Girls Choir were in great voice, performing songs from Frozen while local artists entertained the crowds.

Local charity Hounslow FoodBox were also present over the weekend at the market, gathering donations, festive treats and toys which will be given out to local children. You can read more about Hounslow Foodbank, the great work they do and their recent visit to the Brentford Community Stadium here. They were selected as our Hollywood Heroes for our match against Liverpool back in September. A worthy acknowledgement for all their hard work.
