The central defender, who most recently represented Oxford United before departing this summer, will continue his development as part of the young Bees’ squad.

Nico spent the very early stages of his career with Fulham before joining Oxford in 2018. He made his debut for the side in April 2019 as a second half substitute before going on to get more first team minutes under his belt against sides such as Doncaster Rovers and Luton Town towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

November 2019 saw the defender make Oxford United history as he became the club’s youngest ever captain at the age of just 17 as the side earned a 4-1 win away from home in the EFL Trophy.

Last season the 19-year-old made four appearances for the first team in the EFL Trophy as he helped the side to wins over the likes of Chelsea Under-21s and Walsall.

Discussing Nico’s arrival, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “I think it’s a very exciting signing for the B Team. Nico is someone who at the age of 16 was in and around first team football with Oxford.

“He suits our style of play in terms of his build-up and passing out from the back, and like all of our young players, we will continue to work with and develop him. We’ve seen with some of the other players that have arrived with us in recent seasons that a number of them have already had experiences within first team environments which we feel is a real positive. It’s down to us to work with Nico and help him to keep getting better.”
