Brentford's first cup tie of the season is just two days away. The Bees have kicked off their Premier League campaign with a home win over Arsenal and an away draw against Crystal Palace. Next Up for The Bees is Forest Green Rovers.

Brentford will play Forest Green in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup. The tie will be the first ever match between the sides. The game will be played on Tuesday, 24 August, and will kick-off at 7.45pm at our new stadium.

Forest Green reached this stage with a dramatic win over Bristol City. They scored a stoppage time equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw last week. They then beat the team two divisions above them 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out.

This is Forest Green's fifth season as an EFL side. They won promotion in 2017 after climbing through the non-league pyramid. This is the third time in those five years that they have reached the Second Round of this competition. They have never made it past this stage.

They have, however, had a great start to the Sky Bet League Two season. A 6-3 win over Crawley Town yesterday was their fourth in four League Two matches. No side in the country has won more games.

Brentford, as a Premier League side, were given a bye in the First Round. The only other times The Bees entered in the Second Round were in 1960, when they were drawn a bye, and 1965, when only 38 teams were in the First Round.

Brentford will be looking to repeat the success of last year. The Bees beat four Premier League sides on their way to the Semi-Final. It was the first time Brentford had ever reached the last four of a major competition.

Brentford's run came to an end against Tottenham Hotspur. The Bees head beaten Southampton, West Brom, Fulham and Newcastle United to reach that stage. Tottenham then lost to Manchester City in the Final in April.
