Denmark begin life under new Head Coach Jesper Sørensen with a friendly against Greece in Gladsaxe next Friday, 3 September, before heading to the Astana Arena the following Tuesday for their opening Under-21 European Championship qualifier against Kazakhstan, kick-off 4pm UK time.

The Danes, who with Mads Bech and Mads Roerslev in the squad reached the Quarter-Final of this summer's Championships, are joined by Belgium, Scotland, and Turkey in Group I of Qualifying for the 2023 finals in Georgia and Romania.

Mads is one of 12 players earning their maiden Under-21 call-up. The 20-year-old midfielder has been a regular in younger age groups for his nation, featuring 22 times between Under-16 and Under-19 level, scoring once.

Since making his debut at Preston North End back in April, Mads has gone on to feature in nine of our last 13 competitive fixtures. He made his full debut in our 2-0 victory over Watford and came off the bench in both the Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg and the Wembley Final.

This season he has appeared off the bench in both our Premier League games and started against Forest Green Rovers in midweek. Of Mads' nine First-Team appearances, we have won eight and drawn one.
