Brentford B forward Aaron Pressley earned his first AFC Wimbledon start on Tuesday evening as he helped the side to a 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup.
The youngster, who earned his League One debut last weekend for The Dons, played 82 minutes as they navigated their way past Charlton Athletic to reach the Second Round, where they’ll face Northampton Town away from home.
Paul Osew grabbed Wimbledon’s goal on 26 minutes to claim the win and the side will now look to league action where they face Bolton Wanderers at home.
As for Ellery Balcombe, he was an unused substitute as Burton Albion exited the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night following a penalty shootout defeat to Oxford United. The match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes with John Mousinho slotting home the decisive spot kick.
Burton now look to a home match with Ipswich Town this weekend in League One.
