At last night’s match against Forest Green Rovers, we encountered significant challenges relating to the turnstiles and access to the stadium.

Our own initial internal investigation suggests a technology failure at eight key turnstiles, primarily servicing the West and North stands, culminating in late entry for a large number of our supporters for which we sincerely apologise

We have immediately requested a detailed report from our Venue Access Control partner and expect a detailed report later today. Despite previous challenges with the ticketing system, we are confident the problems encountered last night were solely down to a failure of our Venue Access Control system and can be quickly resolved.

Clearly the disruption caused to our supporters is unacceptable. We need to deal better with a late walk up of supporters. We must have robust plans in place to ensure technology doesn’t fail us again with stronger contingency plans should we encounter similar problems in the future.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage all our supporters to allow sufficient time to access our new home on a matchday. Everyone (including the Club) is still finding their feet and developing a new matchday routine for games at Brentford Community Stadium, this will take time and your understanding and support is very much appreciated by all at Brentford FC.

We will provide further updates when we have more information from our Venue Access Control partner and will do everything in our power to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
