Bees in Carabao Cup action on Tuesday night

20 September 2020

Brentford continue their season with a Carabao Cup Third Round tie on Tuesday night. For the second round in a row, The Bees are away to Premier League opponents and will be looking to reach the last 16. Brentford head to West Bromwich Albion for the Third Round tie, which will be played on Tuesday, 22 September, and will kick-off at 7pm.

The Bees secured a Second Round win away to Southampton last week. They were 2-0 victors away to the Premier League side with Christian Nørgaard heading home the first before Josh Dasilva added a second in stoppage time at the end of the first half. West Brom reached this stage by beating Harrogate Town last night. They had a bye in the First Round as a Premier League side while The Bees got past Wycombe Wanderers after a penalty shoot-out.

The teams are very well acquianted having battled at the top of the Sky Bet Championship last season. The Bees took four points from the games between the teams but West Brom took second place and automatic promotion while Brentford finished third. This will be the third season in a row that Brentford have visited The Hawthorns to take on West Brom and the last two visits have ended 1-1. There must be a winner on this ocassion.

The game will, unfortuntely, be played behind closes doors. As per an announcement by the EFL, every Carabao Cup Round Two, Three and Four match will be available to watch live on Sky Sports or online in September, whilst access to matches remains restricted to supporters. The game next week will not be televised and will be behind closed doors. As such, it will be streamed live online.

Fixtures that are not scheduled for TV will be streamed online on the following basis in the UK only:

  • EFL Club vs EFL Club – streamed on iFollow or club equivalent service
  • EFL Club vs Premier League Club – streamed on carabaocup.live
  • Premier League Club vs Premier League Club – streamed on carabaocup.live

Matches will be available to purchase on an individual match pass price of £10.  Season Ticket holders will be required to purchase a match pass for Carabao Cup fixtures.

Brentford's match  will be an EFL v Premier League tie. This means that fans will be able to watch on carabaocup.live. Fans that did not use it to watch the game against Southampton should check out that site, which is being operated by the EFL and its partners, as soon as possible, sign up and ensure they know how it works.
