Brentford will continue their 2020/21 season with a Carabao Cup Second Round tie this week. Brentford will travel to Southampton on Wednesday, 16 September, for the tie. The Bees will head to the Premier League side for their second tie in the competition, which will be played behind closed doors and will kick-off at 7.45pm.

Brentford booked their place in the Second Round by beating Wycombe Wanderers last Sunday. The game, the first competitive fixture in our new home, finished 1-1. But The Bees made it through by winning a penalty shoot-out with Marcus Forss striking the winning spot kick.

The teams have not met since they were both in the third tier between 2009 and 2011. They faced each other four times in those two seasons, with both sides winning one each and two finishing all square. Brentford won one and drew one of their games at Southampton. The Bees also drew 2-2 on their first visit to Saint Mary's Stadium in an FA Cup tie in 2005.

Every Carabao Cup Round Two, Three and Four match will be available to watch live on Sky Sports or online. Southampton v Brentford will not be shown live on Sky so will be streamed online. Fixtures that are not scheduled for TV will be streamed online on the following basis in the UK only:
