Jared, who trained with Brentford B in 2017 following his departure from Chelsea, returns to the Club having spent time in recent seasons with Chippenham Town, before joining Sky Bet League Two side Exeter City on a short-term deal last season.

The 21-year-old linked up with Matt Taylor’s men at St James Park midway through the previous campaign and provided backup support to the goalkeeping setup, featuring in the Under-23 Premier League Cup against Doncaster Rovers.

Jared also spent time with his local Club Swindon Town a number of years ago before he joined the youth setup at Chelsea.

He has been working with Goalkeeping Coach Jani Viander and the other goalkeepers at Jersey Road in recent weeks and will provide further competition and options for Neil MacFarlane’s side.

Discussing Jared’s arrival, Neil explained: “Within the Goalkeeping department in the B Team we’ve been looking for somebody that can come in and strengthen our squad.

“Jared has good potential and we’ll continue to push him. Nathan Shepperd has been a real leader for us, but after his injury, we’re hoping Jared can come in and work alongside Simon (Andersson) and Jani and be a real leader for us in that respect. It’s a brilliant chance for him to show us what he can do.”
