After the shortest pre-season and close season that followed the longest season, the new campaign is upon us. The 2020/21 Sky Bet EFL season starts on Friday when Watford and Middlesbrough go head-to-head in the first Championship game of the season. The second will be Brentford's visit to Birmingham City on Saturday, 12 September, which will kick-off at 12.30pm and be live on Sky Sports.

The regular 2019/20 season only concluded on Wednesday 22 July while The Bees were in Play-Off action on 4 August. Brentford's season started with a Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers at our new home. The first league game at our new stadium will be next Saturday, 19 September, against Huddersfield Town.

The EFL is building up to the season this week. Today they are looking at some of the ways EFL clubs and fans helped out in their communities. Keep an eye out this week for more of the build-up to the season.
