Darren England to take charge at The Hawthorns tomorrow night

The match officials have been confirmed for our EFL Cup tie

21 September 2020

We head to The Hawthorns tomorrow in the Third Round of the EFL Cup to face West Bromwich Albion. The match officials have been confirmed for the game as we go looking for a place in the last 16.

Referee: Darren England

Assistant Referees: Dan Cook and Sian Massey-Ellis

Fourth Official: Martin Atkinson

This is Darren's sixth season as an EFL referee having spent many years in the professional game as a linesman, including running the line for the 2015 FA Cup Final between Aston Villa and Arsenal.

We've only lost once in England's six matches. Last season he took charge of three games with one win, one draw, and one loss. He officiated August's 1-1 draw at home to Hull City, February's 2-1 reverse at Luton Town and our 1-0 win over Preston North End in July. Ahead of that there was a 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers and a 3-3 draw with Sunderland during the 2017/18 season and a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in September 2018.

This is England's first assignment this term having shown 94 yellow cards and three reds in 35 games last season.

West Bromwich Albion 2020/21
