Brentford will travel to Southampton next Wednesday for their Carabao Cup Second Round tie. The Bees will head to the Premier League side for their second tie in the competition eight days from now. The game, which will be played behind closed doors, will kick-off at 7.45pm on Wednesday 16 September.

Brentford booked their place in the Second Round by beating Wycombe Wanderers on Sunday. The game, the first competitive fixture in our new home, finished 1-1. But The Bees made it through by winning a penalty shoot-out with Marcus Forss striking the winning spot kick.

The teams have not met since they were both in the third tier between 2009 and 2011. They faced each other four times in those two seasons, with both sides winning one each and two finishing all square. Brentford won one and drew one of their games at Southampton. The Bees also drew 2-2 on their first visit to Saint Mary's Stadium in an FA Cup tie in 2005.

More details on how fans can watch the game will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. As per the announcement made by the EFL that all games would be available for fans to watch when they cannot attend, First Round ties not live on Sky Sports were available on iFollow. Those were available on a match pass basis at £10. More information will follow soon.
