Saïd Benrahma earns further Algeria cap

Bees winger features in last night's draw against Mexico

14 October 2020

Saïd Benrahma was a late substitute as Algeria and Mexico played out a 2-2 friendly draw on Tuesday night.

The two sides traded goals in the closing minutes of the first-half at the Cars Jeans Stadion in The Hague; AC Milan midfielder Ismaël Bennacer cancelling out Jesús Corona's earlier effort. Adlène Guédioura was sent off for the Desert Foxes ten minutes into the second-half, shortly before Riyad Mahrez made it 2-1. The ten men couldn't hold on for the win, however, as Diego Lainez netted four minutes from time.

Saïd came on in second-half injury time to earn his fifth Algerian cap.

That was the only action for Brentford players last night with Saman Ghoddos and Julian Jeanvier seeing their games postponed due to Covid-19. Iran had been due to face Mali with Guinea taking on Gambia but positive tests in the Mali and Guinea camps saw both games postponed over the weekend.
