Darren Bond to take charge at Hillsborough tomorrow night

Match Officials confirmed for trip to Sheffield Wednesday

20 October 2020

Our next engagement in the Sky Bet Championship comes tomorrow night as we head to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls have taken eight points from their opening five games as they seek to cancel out their 12 point pre-season deduction. The match officials have now been confirmed for the game.

Referee: Darren Bond

Assistant Referees: Shaun Hudson and Akil Howson

Fourth Official: John Brooks

Lancashire official Darren Bond will be in charge of tomorrow's televised trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

It will be the 16th time Bond has refereed us with, remarkably, 14 of the previous 15 outings coming with us as the away side.

We are unbeaten in the last four of those games. A 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town in September 2018 was followed by a pair of draws by the same scoreline away at West Bromwich Albion in December 2018 and December 2019. Bond's most recent Bees assignment came as we beat Hull City 5-1 at the KCOM back in February.

In total, we have won four, drawn five, and lost six of his 15 games in charge.

So far this term, Bond has shown 16 yellow cards and one red in four outings.

Sheffield Wednesday 2020/21

78 fouls - 2nd most in Sky Bet Championship

7 yellow cards - 12th in Sky Bet Championship

0 red cards - Joint fewest in Sky Bet Championship

Wednesday's game is live on Sky Sports as well as iFollow for Season Ticket Holders.
