Brentford B picked up an impressive 6-2 win away from home against Hendon in the Second Round of the London Senior Cup.
There were five different scorers and all of the goals came in the first period as the young Bees put in a rampant display on the road.
Joe Adams netted inside five minutes and the impressive Valgeir Valgeirsson scored on his debut before Alex Gilbert, Aaron Pressley and Lewis Gordon got in on the action before the Icelandic midfielder grabbed his second.
Brentford B were going into the game looking to beat a Hendon side who had come out on top just over one month ago in the Final of the 2019/20 competition. The Bees started brightly when they broke at speed when Valgeirsson played a wonderful first-time ball into the path of Adams who did the rest with an exquisite curled effort into the top right-hand corner.
The hosts would then have a good chance to level on nine minutes when the ball fell kindly for Joe White to shoot, but with Ellery Balcombe quick off his line, the Brentford shot stopper saved well to push the ball behind.
On 18 minutes Valgeirsson would grab Brentford's second of the game when good work down the left saw the ball crossed to the far post, and a physical Aaron Pressley rose well to head back across goal, and Valgeirsson was on hand to turn home from close range.
Eight minutes later the third would come when more fluid Brentford football saw the ball kept well before it found its way to Alex Gilbert who slotted home from around 18-yards with the outside of his left foot.
One minute later Brentford would get a fourth and it came at pace when they broke and a ball through to Pressley saw the forward drive in on goal before slotting home comfortably in a fantastic display from the young Bees.
The fifth arrived just two minutes later as Neil MacFarlane’s side were ruthless in attack. As Gordon worked some space for himself down the left-hand side, he drove into the box with Hendon unable to make a challenge as the left back got his first goal for Brentford B with a cool finish.
The sixth goal would arrive seven minutes before the break when Gilbert’s effort was well saved by the Hendon keeper, but he could only push it into the path of Valgeirsson, who improvised to turn the ball home with an overhead-kick.
The second period would see Hendon make changes as they looked to wrestle back some control into the match. It would take just two minutes for Hendon to hit back when White was found at the far post to turn the ball home as they managed to see more of the ball.
Michael Dada would also be denied on two occasions by Ellery Balcombe with one of his efforts a stinging shot from distance which The Bees keeper was equal to as he tipped over.
Though chances became fewer for Brentford B they still carried a threat with Valgeirsson whipping in a dangerous cross which just evaded the onrushing Pressley.
10 minutes from time White would get his second as The Bees failed to clear a ball into the box before he pounced on the mistake to slot home to make it 6-2.
There would be game time for new signing Max Haygarth for the final 10 minutes which rounded off an excellent display from the young Bees.
