On English soil, the full round of Football League fixtures saw the likes of Jan Zamburek, Jaakko Oksanen and Arthur Read turn out for their clubs, whilst Luka Racic was an unused substitute for Northampton Town.

Jan was introduced from the bench for Shrewsbury as they hosted Bristol Rovers. He entered the field just after 20 minutes but was unable to help the side seal a win as defeat came when Brandon Hanlan got the only goal of the game. Town will be back in action this weekend at home to Rochdale.

As for Jaakko Oksanen, he started the match as AFC Wimbledon slipped to a narrow defeat to a strong Hull City side in Sky Bet League One. The youngster played the first hour, but the only goal of the game came from Hull’s Keane Lewis-Potter. The side will look to dust themselves down when they head away from home again this weekend to take on Burton Albion. The Dons are currently in 13th in the league table.

A League One win would come for Northampton, though, with Luka an unused sub on the night as they beat Swindon Town 2-1 with goals from Christopher Missilou and Danny Rose. The young Dane will be pushing to get back into Keith Curle’s side this weekend when they host Charlton Athletic this weekend.

As for Sky Bet League Two action, Arthur Read came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute as Stevenage hosted in-form Newport County. An early Tristan Abrahams goal won it for the Welsh side who have been in strong early season form. Stevenage sit in 18th with five points thus far and will be looking to add to it when they host Leyton Orient this weekend.

As for our players currently on loan outside of the UK, Patrik Gunnarsson started for Viborg FF in their 2-1 win over Silkeborg yesterday. The side had to come from behind with goals from Jakob Bonde and Sebastian Gronning giving the Danish First Division side the win. They sit top of the league with 20 points from eight games.

Joel Valencia was involved as a late substitute in midweek for Legia Warsaw as they beat Śląsk Wrocław in a 2-1 win. The side are fourth in the league now with 12 points from six games and they will be in action away at Pogoń Szczecin this weekend.

Julian Jeanvier’s Kasımpaşa S.K are involved in action this evening when they take on Göztepe S.K. at home. Julian started the side’s last match where they took three points and they go into the match tonight eighth in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Finally, fresh from his FC Twente debut, Halil Dervişoğlu could feature tomorrow away from home at Utrecht. Twente are fifth in the Eredivisie with 10 points from their first five games of the season.
