Lachlan is a product of the Adelaide youth setup and he quickly rose through the ranks to make his debut at the age of just 16 against Jiangsu Suning in the 2017 AFC Champions League. The versatile player, who can play across the forward line, then made his league debut for Adelaide in January 2018 against Sydney FC.

The 19-year-old was recently named Youth Player of the Year for United after impressing within the youth teams in the National Premier League and the Foxtel Y-League. The youngster has also represented Australia at youth level a number of times, and has most recently been involved with the Australian Under-23s side.

After breaking into the First Team at Adelaide, the 2019/20 season saw Lachlan play eight times in all competitions in New South Wales, netting his first goal against Perth Glory earlier this year as Adelaide finished the campaign in seventh place.

Discussing Lachlan’s arrival, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “Lachlan has been brought to our attention and he’s someone that will offer us a lot at the top end of the pitch, both assisting and scoring goals.

“He’s a really good character and he’s been playing men’s football which we’re starting to see with the players that have come into our B Team group recently, which is really pleasing. He won Young Player of the Year at Adelaide which is a really good achievement. He’s the type of player who can handle the ball and he has flashes of brilliance, so we’re absolutely thrilled to get this signing over the line and I think he will have a bright future at the Club.”
