Matthew Donohue to take charge of first league derby at our new home

Officials confirmed for tomorrow's game against QPR

26 November 2020

Tomorrow night sees the first Sky Bet Championship West London derby at our new home; Mark Warburton bringing his Queens Park Rangers side to TW8. Both sides go into the game on the back of midweek wins, ours coming 1-0 on the road at Barnsley while QPR beat Rotherham United 3-2 at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. Ahead of tomorrow's game, the match officials have been confirmed.

Referee: Matthew Donohue

Assistant Referees: Mark Russell and Graham Kane

Fourth Official: Dean Whitestone

Matthew Donohue has enjoyed a quick rise through the National Group, spending just 12 months as an EFL referee before being added to the Select Group Two of Sky Bet Championship officials in 2019.

This will be the Greater Manchester official's fourth Brentford assignment with two wins and a defeat to show from last season's games. After a 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers in November, Donohue was in charge of two wins in 2020, both of which saw our opponents on the day reduced to ten men. Donohue opened the year with the 4-0 win over Bristol City, a game which saw Ashley Williams dismissed, before overseeing a 3-0 victory at home to Wigan Athletic in July, Joe Garner the man to see red this time round.

So far this term, Donohue has shown one red and 19 yellow cards in eight league and cup matches.

QPR 2020/21
