We asked you to support us and Jamie Powell last weekend and you answered our call.

Thanks to the generosity of The Bees family, more than £20,000 has been raised for Jamie Powell from the iFollow income from this game, with a record number of supporters tuning in to watch us take on Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park.

Jamie is currently undergoing treatment in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston (USA). He is a lifelong Bees fan and Season Ticket Holder and has rarely missed a match. Jamie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare and aggressive bone cancer) of the skull earlier this year and while Massachusetts General Hospital have confirmed they can treat Jamie with proton beam therapy, this treatment will cost around £350,000.

More than £300,000 has now been raised for Jamie's treatment with the finishing target of £350,000 well in sight. Following the fantastic response from The Bees family – the visit to Adams Park on Saturday was our most viewed away fixture of the season – the Club is delighted to be able to donate more than £20,000 to help Jamie get the vital treatment he needs. The money raised from iFollow will be donated directly to Jamie and his family, rather than via his JustGiving page. (to avoid any administration charges on this amount).

After such an outpouring of generosity from Brentford fans, and the wider football world, Jamie sent a message of thanks to all those who have supported him so far. That message was read out by Mark Burridge during the end of matchday show from Adams Park, and can be listened to below.
