Denmark secured their passage through to next year’s finals during the October break. They finish their campaign against the second-placed team in Group H, Romania, looking to add gloss to a campaign that has seen them take 25 points from a possible 27.

England are also safely through after seven wins and a draw from eight. Andorra are the only side to take points off the Three Lions this campaign following last month’s 3-3 draw, a game which saw Josh score one and set one up on his first start.

Iceland’s situation remains complicated to say the least. Just one point separates the top four in Group A, which includes Iceland and both this month’s opponents, Italy and Ireland. The game against The Azzurri was rescheduled from last month but now their fixture against Armenia, who have three points from eight games is off due to COVID-19 cases in the Armenian camp. With no further international breaks before the Championship Group Stages are held in March, UEFA have currently designated the match, as well as Armenia’s fixture against third-placed Sweden, as cancelled, rather than postponed, meaning both Iceland and Sweden may be given the three crucial points.
Jan Zamburek is on the standby list for Czech Republic Under-21s European Championship Qualifier against Greece on Friday while Ellery Balcombe is on standby for England’s Under-21s.
* It was announced over the weekend that anyone arriving from Denmark into the UK will have to quarantine, professional athletes are not excluded from this quarantine. As such, the Denmark squad has been updated for the match on Wednesday and will not include Henrik and Mathias.
