Frank Dudley (1925); 80 appearances, 35 goals

Striker Dudley arrived in December 1953 to breathe new life into our fight against relegation. His first goal against Oldham Athletic on Christmas Day completed an unusual feat as his first three goals during the 1953–54 season were scored for different sides in three different divisions of the Football League, having scored in the First Division for Cardiff, the Second Division for Brentford and the Third Division for Southampton. He ended the season as top scorer with 11 goals, but it was in vain as we dropped to the Third tier for the first time since 1935. The following season was Dudley’s best in Brentford colours as he top scored again with 20 goals in 38 games. That was as good as it got due to the emergence of Jim Towers and George Francis. Dudley was limited to 15 games during the 1955-56 campaign and four the term after, netting twice in both those seasons, before his retirement from professional football in the summer of 1957.

Lorenzo Pinamonte (1978); 26 appearances, 3 goals

The Italian striker arrived from Bristol City in February 2000. He netted his only goal of the 1999/2000 season during a home defeat to Millwall in mid-April. The following campaign brought two goals in ten appearances before a mid-season loan to Leyton Orient. The summer of 2001 brought a return to his homeland after he was released by Steve Coppell.
