A look back at this day in Brentford history

16 May 2020

Notable Matches

Brentford 1 Sheffield Wednesday 2 – League One Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg, 2005

Birthdays

Charlie Adams (1994); 4 appearances, 0 goals

Charlie's route into football wasn't your typical one. Spotted at a Community Sports Trust futsal scheme and then progressing through the Centre of Excellence, Charlie signed his scholarship at Brentford a decade ago. He was an unused substitute on the final day of the 2010/11 season before making his professional debut away at Carlisle United in March 2013 (pictured above). Three appearances off the bench during the 2013/14 promotion-winning campaign were his only further outings before taking his career across the pond in February 2015.

Dan Long spoke to Charlie earlier this year to catch up on his story since leaving West London.
