Birthdays

Scott Marshall (1973); 94 appearances, 7 goals

Glasgow-born defender Marshall arrived at Griffin Park in October 1999 after a nightmare 14 months at Southampton. An 87th minute own-goal away at Preston on his third start wasn’t the best of beginnings but he made up for that with two goals in his next four games. He went on to make 24 appearances that campaign and 38 the one after before missing all of the 2001/02 season through injury. Marshall returned to play 32 times under Wally Downes before he was released in the summer of 2003.

Chiedozie Ogbene (1997); 9 appearances, 0 goals

All nine of Chiedozie’s appearances during his 18 months at Griffin Park came as a substitute. The livewire winger arrived in January 2018 and made his debut away at Nottingham Forest that April. A second appearance followed on the final day of the season against Hull City. Last season saw seven further outings, either side of a loan spell at Exeter City, before he made the switch to Rotherham United in the summer.
