Birthdays

Thomas Garnish (1900); 46 appearances, 6 goals

London-born Garnish joined The Bees in the summer of 1923. He made 20 appearances in all competitions during his maiden season, finding the net once, as we finished 17th in Division Three South. The following season saw Garnish score five goals during a difficult campaign which ended in re-election. Four of those five goals came in defeats with the other helping the side to a 2-2 draw at home to Southend United before he left for Fulham in the summer of 1925.

Alex Pritchard (1993); 47 appearances, 12 goals

Signed on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, attacker Pritchard lit up the Sky Bet Championship during the 2014/15 season, finishing as our second top scorer. Pritchard’s first eight Brentford goals all came in wins as Mark Warburton’s side battled it out at the top of the second tier. He netted his 12th and final Brentford goal at home to Wigan Athletic on the last day of the season to seal a top six finish. Our defeat away at Middlesbrough in the Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg was his final game for Brentford ahead of spells at West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City, and currently Huddersfield Town.
