Brentford B will be in action at Griffin Park on Tuesday 10 March in a 7.30pm kick-off against a Rangers XI.

The young Bees, who are in Cyprus this week and beat Pafos FC 6-0 on Monday afternoon, return to England to take on their Scottish opponents for their first match at Griffin Park since October.

Brentford B actually played against Rangers back in December last year when Neil MacFarlane’s side travelled to Glasgow to take on a strong side at The Hummel Training Centre, and despite some positive periods in the game, the home side were at their clinical best to win the game 4-0.

The side have played at Griffin Park three times this season, the first of which was an entertaining 2-2 draw with West Ham United Under-23s before they were beaten 1-0 in a behind closed doors match with Luton Town. They then welcomed Reading Under-23s in October and won the match 3-1 with two goals from Jaden Brissett and an own goal from the away side.

Entry to supporters is free of charge and offers fans the chance to watch the next crop of youngsters continue their development.

Speaking about the opportunity to play at Griffin Park, youngster Fredrik Hammar said: “I’ve got some good memories of playing in the B Team at Griffin Park in the Middlesex FA Senior Cup Final, and it’s always a special feeling to play in front of a big audience.”
