Brentford attacker Tariqe Fosu has been called up by Ghana. The 24-year-old has been named in the first squad selected by new Ghana Head Coach Charles Akonnor. Ghana face two matches against Sudan later this month in their qualification campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Tariqe is part of a 23-man squad that will meet up for the games on 27 March and 30 March.

Tariqe has been with Brentford for just over a month, joining from Oxford United at the end of January. He has made three appearances for The Bees so far, all as a substitute. After coming through the youth ranks at Reading, he moved to Charlton Athletic before joining Oxford. He spent the first half of the current season at Oxford before moving to Brentford.

Tariqe was capped by England at Under-18 level in 2013 while at Reading but can play for Ghana due to his family heritage. He links up with a team that won their first two qualification games for the 2021 Cup of Nations. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the finals, which will take place in January and February 2021.
