Goals from first teamers Halil Dervişoğlu and Tariqe Fosu earned them the win in a performance where they created a number of chances and also had Nathan Shepperd on hand to make some smart saves.

The young Bees named a strong side with three first teamers involved in Dervişoğlu as well as Fosu and Mads Roerslev, who recently signed his first contract for Thomas Frank's men, as they were given valuable minutes as the club prepare the final nine matches of the season.

Fredrik Hammar had the first attempt of the match after 15 minutes when the young Bees managed to sustain a period of attacking play before the ball was shifted to the Swede on the edge of the box before he thumped an effort goalwards, and in difficult conditions, Andy Firth parried well.

Brentford B made their dominance count on 23 minutes as they went ahead after a well worked move stemming from left back. Nick Tsaroulla chipped the ball into Gustav Mogensen before the defender darted down the left and received the ball back and the 20-year-old delivered an inch-perfect cross onto the head of Dervişoğlu whose effort beat Firth into the top left-hand corner.

Brandon Baker would have Rangers’ first real attempt when the away side managed to get in behind the Brentford B back line before he sent a stinging shot from the edge of the box towards goal which Shepperd pushed away.

But Dervişoğlu was in the mood and was causing more havoc in the Rangers box when Mads Roerslev kept a corner alive with his header back into the danger area before the striker muscled himself some space and sent a shot low towards goal which Firth managed to collect.

The away side would then spring into a counter-attack as a Brentford move broke down. With a three-v-two the ball was played left to Jordon Jones, and with just Shepperd to beat, the Welsh keeper pulled off a terrific save to push the ball round the post.

The keeper would then be called into action seconds later when the resulting corner was swung into the danger area with real venom before Filip Halander’s header from close range forced an excellent reaction save from Shepperd as he helped to ensure they would take a lead into the break.

Brentford B continued their good work in the second period and began to dominate more of the ball, and that possession paid off just before the hour mark. After good pressing the ball was only cleared to Fosu who played an excellent one-two with Read before he curled a thunderous effort into the top corner to make it 2-0.

James Maxwell would have a chance for the away side as they had a spell of possession themselves. After good play down the right the ball was slipped to the edge of the box for the defender to poke an effort just over.

On 76 minutes the young Bees had an excellent chance down the left when Tsaroulla was once again making a nuisance of himself as he worked himself some space before slotting the ball across goal for Christian Tue Jensen, but he couldn’t sort his feet in time as his slightly rushed effort edged just over.

Shepperd was at his best once again 10 minutes from time as he was determined to keep a clean sheet. When Dapo Mebude cut inside before curling a goal bound effort towards the top corner, a wonderful save from the 19-year-old saw him push the ball round the post as The Bees collected the win.
