The young Bees, who have already spent time in the likes of France, Portugal and Austria so far in 2020, are in Paphos to continue their hard work following progression to the London Senior Cup semi-final earlier this week.

The match is set to provide another tough test for Neil MacFarlane’s team as they take on a side who sit in the top tier of Cypriot football.

The young Bees will take on a Pafos side who play in the Cyta Championship, in which 12 teams compete in the league. The teams play each other twice before the season enters a second round where teams placed between first and sixth play-off to win the title and qualification for European competition. This means the remaining teams between 7th and 12th compete to avoid relegation. Teams who win the league qualify for the UEFA Champions League whilst the runner-up and the team which finished 3rd enter the UEFA Europa League.

Pafos FC currently occupy 7th in the league table and recently beat APOEL 2-0 at home before travelling to Doxa and winning 4-0 on Saturday 29 February.

Neil MacFarlane will be returning to Pafos, a club he worked at under Steven Pressley prior to returning to England and eventually taking the role as Brentford B Head Coach.

Brentford B have a strong number of players to choose from with 21 players having made the trip to Cyprus ahead of the game which will then see high intensity training take place for the rest of the week.

The club endeavour to provide full coverage of Monday’s fixture and up to date information will be posted across the club’s social media channels prior to the game.
