Brentford B’s Jayden Onen has been called up to the Ugandan national squad for the first time ahead of qualifying matches for the African Cup of Nations which is set to take place next month in Cameroon.
This is Jayden’s first call up for the Ugandan national side and they will take on South Sudan in home and return legs during this month’s international break as they look to qualify for next month’s competition.
Uganda will welcome South Sudan on 28 March before travelling to play away from home on 31 March in Group B. The side have had a strong start to their qualification as they currently sit top of their group with four points from their first two matches with a win over Malawi and a draw with Burkina Faso.
Jayden has turned out 10 times so far for Brentford B this season and has netted twice. The youngster has also spent time on loan with Bromley towards the end of 2019.
