Tariqe Fosu and Jayden Onen were both set for their first involvement at international level, having been called up by Ghana and Uganda respectively. Tariqe, who opened his Brentford account against Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, was named in the 23-man squad for a double-header against Sudan as the Black Stars had been looking to build on their perfect start in Group C.

With The Cranes topping their group following a win and a draw in their opening two games, Brentford B midfielder Onen, who has scored twice in ten appearances for Neil MacFarlane's side this term, was set for a pair of games against Group B's bottom side South Sudan.

Julian Jeanvier was due to join up with the Guinea squad for a pair of games against Chad. Guinea also top their group with four points from two matches, both of which Julian started as he took his international caps tally to five.

Finally, Said Benrahma had been named in the provisional squad as the reigning Africa Cup of Nations Champions Algeria prepared to take on Zimbabwe home and away. As with the other three sides, Algeria top their group after wins over Zambia and Botswana.
