Brentford striker Ollie Watkins spoke to the Engaging People Pod last month. The podcast interviews professional sports people and young entrepreneurs on the challenges they've faced on the rise to their success. Chartered Financial Planner and Engage FS Managing Director Sam Sloma hosts the show and Ollie, who has scored 22 Sky Bet Championship goals for The Bees this season, was a recent guest.

He talks about his early career at Exeter City. Hear how he couldn't concentrate when he first went there and so didn't get a contract before being asked to go back two years later. Ollie saw his brother break a leg playing Sunday league football and that made him more determined to make it professionally.

Ollie talks about making his debut at 17 but broke into the first team properly aged 20. He played another two years before signing for Brentford. In his third season with The Bees, he is now the second top scorer in the second tier and aiming to finish the term with promotion and with most goals in the division.
