Said Benrahma's wonderful form in July has him on the shortlist for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.
Our Algerian wing-wizard found the net six times in six July matches, helping the side to 12 points from those matches.
The month started with a hat-trick against Wigan Athletic at Griffin Park. His first was a sharp volley from 15 yards before his cross/shot drifted all the way in for his second. He rounded off his treble with a cool finish from just inside the box late on. He then netted from the spot three days later as we came from behind to beat Charlton Athletic.
An incredible seven days for Said was capped off at Pride Park with a superb double in a 3-1 win over The Rams. Early in the second-half his shot had just too much power for Ben Hamer but there was nothing the Derby stopper could do about his second, and our third, on the hour. Picking up the ball on the byline, Said drifted inside and then fired an arcing effort into the top corner from 25 yards to rubber stamp a seventh straight Championship win for Thomas Frank's side.
The winner will be announced tomorrow morning with Said up against Adam Armstrong (Blackburn Rovers), Danny Batth (Stoke City), and Kieran Dowell (Wigan Athletic).
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
