John Brooks to take charge of Brentford vs Charlton Athletic

Match Officials confirmed for visit from The Addicks

6 July 2020

Our next appointment in the Sky Bet Championship comes tomorrow night at home to Charlton Athletic. We head into the match looking for a sixth straight league win to continue the pressure at the top of the table. The match officials have been confirmed for the game.

Referee: John Brooks

Assistant Referees: Adrian Waters and Mark Russell

Fourth Official: Will Finnie

Tuesday's game will be John Brooks' sixth in charge of The Bees as the Leicestershire and Rutland FA official establishes himself in the second tier.

Brooks is on the select group of assistant referees for the Premier League and, in 2015, joined the FIFA International referees list as an assistant. He ran the line at Wembley for the 2014 Sky Bet Championship Play-Off final and took charge of an EFL game for the first time in August 2016.

His maiden second-tier game was in December 2017 with his second Championship assignment seeing us take three points in the north-east against Sunderland the following February. Since then he has taken charge of four further Bees games, all of them at Griffin Park. He was the man in the middle when we lost 2-1 to Middlesbrough in November 2018 and also for last April's 3-3 draw against Derby County. This term's outings saw him officiate our 2-1 win over Cardiff City and January's 3-1 derby victory over Queens Park Rangers.

So far this season, Brooks has taken charge of 29 matches, showing 101 yellow cards and one red.

Charlton Athletic 2019/20

513 fouls - 10th in Sky Bet Championship

95 yellow cards - Most in Sky Bet Championship

0 red cards - Joint-fewest in Sky Bet Championship
