Darren England handed Wednesday's visit from Preston North End

Match Officials confirmed for game against North End

14 July 2020

Referee: Darren England

Assistant Referees: Sam Lewis and Nigel Lugg

Fourth Official: Keith Stroud

This is Darren's fifth season as an EFL referee having spent many years in the professional game as a linesman, including running the line for the 2015 FA Cup Final between Aston Villa and Arsenal.

We've only lost once in England's five matches in charge, that coming last time out against Luton Town. Ahead of that there was a 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers and a 3-3 draw with Sunderland during the 2017/18 season. Last term's one outing was our 2-0 win at home to Wigan Athletic with his other assignment this season a 1-1 draw at home to Hull City in August.

So far this campaign, the Barnsley-born official has shown 89 yellow cards and two reds in 32 matches.
