Brentford have finished in their highest league position for generations and will play in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs. The Bees finished in third after defeat to Barnsley at Griffin Park this evening. That is the highest they have finished since 1947 but was not enough to secure automatic promotion.

The Bees will now compete with Fulham, Cardiff City and Swansea City for a place in the Premier League. Brentford will face Swansea in the Play-Off Semi-Final while Cardiff and Fulham will contest the other Semi-Final. The schedule, released last month, suggests that The Bees will head to Swansea on Sunday, 26 July, and then play at Griffin Park next Wednesday, 29 July. That will be confirmed shortly.
