Peter Gilham is now in to his 51st year as the voice of Griffin Park. For generations of Bees fans, Peter's voice is the soundtrack to their matchday, letting them know who is playing and - even better - who is scoring for Brentford. And with so much changing in English football, the national media have been drawn to his story.

Peter marked 50 years on the microphone at Griffin Park in 2019 and will be the last voice heard before we move to our new home in the summer. Peter has been linked to George Sephton, who performs the same role for Liverpool at Anfield and is the second longest-serving, a couple of years behind Peter. The pair told their stories to the media last week.

A lengthy feature that appeared in The Guardian can be seen here where Peter outlines that he has missed just two matchdays in more than five decades. The pair were also on BBC Radio 5Live last week. That is available here for the next 26 days. The interviews are just after the 6.30pm news, around two hours and 35 minutes in to the programme.
