Brentford B will play their first match of 2020 on Friday when they take on Beijing Renhe in a 12pm kick-off.
The Chinese side, whose owner also owns Reading FC, are in England playing a number of friendly fixtures, and the match is scheduled to take place at Reading’s training ground.
The match will be strictly behind closed doors, but the club aim to give coverage across social media for supporters to keep up to date as Neil MacFarlane’s side play their first match since 21 December due to their Christmas break.
The match precedes what will be a busy January for the young Bees as they will then turn their attentions to a trip to France to take on a Bordeaux XI on Wednesday 15 January in a 1pm kick-off (local time.)
They are likely to come up against a strong French side with a mix of reserve and first team players, so it’s sure to be a tough test. The club will once again be covering the match on social media and highlights will be available in the following days.
After returning from France Brentford B will then travel to the south of Portugal for a week’s tour where they will play three fixtures.
Currently on the schedule is a match with South Korean side FC Seoul on Sunday 19 January before playing another fixture on Tuesday 21 January, with the opponent still to be confirmed. They will then round off their trip with a match against Astana, from Kazakhstan, who of course have taken on the likes of Manchester United in recent months in their Europa League campaign.
January ends with cup action as Neil MacFarlane’s side turn their attentions to the Middlesex FA Senior Challenge Cup where they will travel to Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday 28 January in a 7.45pm kick-off.
Further on the horizon will then be another trip to the continent as they travel to Austria to take on FC Liefering on Saturday 8 February in a 11:00am kick-off (local time.)
With some of the details yet to be confirmed in terms of kick-off times and venues, the club will endeavour to provide information as soon as possible.
