Two quickfire goals from Aubrel Koutsimouka sealed the win for Neil MacFarlane’s men who were rarely threatened throughout the 90 minutes.

One of Beijing’s best chances actually fell within the first couple of minutes as the lively Masika did well to drive down the right-hand side before firing a powerful effort at goal which Patrik Gunnarsson was equal to.

After that, though, The Bees managed to move into their stride as they began to put some nice passages of play together with Matej Majka seeing his shot edge narrowly wide after initial good work from Fredrik Hammar, whilst Gustav Mogensen was inches from connecting with Jaakko Oksanen’s dangerous delivery.

The first goal came after a quarter of an hour when initial good play down the left saw Nick Tsaroulla play the ball inside to Oksanen whose shot was saved before Koutsimouka was on hand to fire home from close range.

Just one minute later The Bees would find themselves further ahead when they went straight up the other end to win a corner. As always, Christian Tue Jensen’s set piece delivery caused havoc as Koutsimouka then rose well to nod the ball home to net his second of the afternoon.

Plenty of energy in the Brentford attack saw more chances fall for Neil MacFarlane’s side as a dangerous cross from David Titov was cleared well before Mogensen tried his luck with an overhead kick following excellent initial control.

The tempo perhaps slowed in the second half with the first notable chance coming from a powerful Joe Adams drive just outside of the Beijing box, and despite striking well, the opposition keeper parried before his defenders helped him out with the clearance.

Neil MacFarlane opted to make changes on the hour mark with a number of trialists introduced to the fold, alongside Jonny Mitchell and the lively Julien Carré.

The Chinese side almost pulled a goal back on 65 minutes when a delicate ball through the heart of the Bees’ back line found Masika, who drove at goal but was met by the onrushing Gunnarsson who saved brilliantly to keep it at 2-0.

Another chance would fall for Majka out on the right whilst full back David Titov, who often looked dangerous going forward, beat two men as he drove at goal centrally but the defender was unable to keep his effort on target as his shot dragged just wide.

A Carré free-kick would be the last of the action in the final few minutes, but the Frenchman was unable to replicate his effort against Albacete Under-19s back in November as his shot edged just over.

The side will now turn their attentions to a trip to take on a Bordeaux XI on Wednesday next week.
