Match Preview: Brentford B v Beijing Renhe

A look ahead to tomorrow's match which is behind closed doors

9 January 2020

Brentford B play their first match of 2020 when they take on Chinese side Beijing Renhe in a 12pm kick-off on Friday afternoon.

It will be the young Bees’ first match since 21 December when they rounded off 2019 with an impressive 2-0 win over Huddersfield Reserves and the team will be looking to pick up from where they left off.

Beijing Renhe, who were recently relegated from the Chinese Super League to China League One, are owned by Dai Yongge who also owns Sky Bet Championship side Reading FC; therefore, the side are in England to play some friendly fixtures.

The match will be played at Reading’s training ground and is strictly behind closed doors, but the club will endeavour to keep supporters up to date across its social media channels.

Now based in Fengtai, Beijing, Beijing Renhe, who have been known by a number of other names over the years, was founded in 1995 originally in Shanghai and has relocated to places like Shaanxi and Guizhou before moving to the capital in 2016.

The club’s stadium hosts more than 31,000 spectators and their most recent successes have seen them win the 2013 and 2014 Chinese FA Cup, as well as secure promotion back to the Chinese Super League in 2018 where they spent one season before returning to China League One.

As for the young Bees, who returned to training following a short break on 30 December, they have been putting in a great deal of hard work at Jersey Road as they look to ready themselves for what will be a busy second half of the 2019/20 season.
