The 20-year-old struck four goals during December, including a superb double in the draw at Bolton Wanderers. His goals helped Wimbledon to gain seven important points in their fight for League One survival.

His nomination by the judging panel read: "Four goals and an assist from the Finn helped Wimbledon ease their relegation fears. It is his positioning and calmness in front of goal which impresses most. Two cool finishes at Bolton demonstrated his predatory instincts."

Marcus is up against MK Dons midfielder Alex Gilbey, Accrington Stanley's Sean McConville, and Gillingham defender Conor Ogilvie with the winner announced on Friday morning.

Those four goals took Marcus into double figures for The Dons. The Finnish youth international has struck 11 times in 17 League One outings since joining in August. He was also on target for Thomas Frank's Bees during our EFL Cup tie at home to Cambridge United.
