In Scotland, Reece Cole played the full 90 minutes as Partick Thistle were beaten 4-1 at home by runaway Scottish Championship leaders Dundee United. League action takes a back seat next weekend as Celtic make the visit to Firhill in the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup.

South of the border, Marcus Forss went off injured after 37 minutes of AFC Wimbledon's 2-1 defeat at Play-Off chasing Portsmouth. The Dons were 1-0 down at the time but levelled on the hour through Joe Pigott. The hosts were not, however, to be denied the three points as John Marquis struck 11 minutes from time. Mads Bech Sorensen was an unused substitute for Glyn Hodges' side who drop to 20th, two points above the drop zone. AFC face another promotion chasing side at Kingsmeadow on Saturday in the form of Peterborough United.

There was no action for our other two loanees with Canice Carroll sitting out Carlisle United's 3-0 defeat at home to Plymouth Argyle while Boreham Wood and Justin Shaibu had the weekend off. Wednesday night sees The Cumbrians host Cardiff City in an Emirates FA Cup Third Round replay while Boreham Wood return to the National League Play-Off race on Saturday at Solihull Moors.
