The match officials have been confirmed for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship visit to the second city. They are:
Referee: Stephen Martin
Assistant Referees: Mark Jones and Jonathan Hunt
Fourth Official: Scott Oldham
This is Stephen Martin’s eighth season as a referee in the EFL and fourth as a member of the Select Group Two of Sky Bet Championship match officials.
The Staffordshire official first took charge of us in April 2013 as we lost 2-0 to MK Dons at Stadium:MK. Following three straight home victories, four of Martin's last five Brentford assignments have been with us as the away team.
The 2017/18 season saw Martin, who, as part of the PGMO exchange programme, refereed three J-League games in 2013, take charge of our opening day defeat at Sheffield United and 2-2 draw against QPR. Last season, he was in the middle for a 3-2 home defeat to The Blades and a 2-1 loss at Reading.
We fared better back in August as he officiated our 1-0 victory on the road at Middlesbrough. That game saw Martin show one of the 58 yellow cards he has handed out in 26 matches this term. He has also shown two reds.
Birmingham City 2019/20
425 fouls – 3rd most in Sky Bet Championship
57 yellow cards – 8th in Sky Bet Championship
2 red cards – 7th in Sky Bet Championship
We are set to be backed by another big away following at St Andrew's on Saturday.
Advanced sales for the game end at 2pm on Friday, 14 February.
