Our two players in loan action over the weekend both suffered defeat in their respective games.
In Scotland, Reece Cole played the full 90 minutes as a Kane Hemmings first-half double secured the three points for Dundee against Partick Thistle. The appearance was Reece’s 20th in all competitions for The Jags who currently prop up the Scottish Championship, three points from safety. Friday night sees Partick host Raith in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup.
South of the border, Mads Bech Sorensen was forced off after 24 minutes of AFC Wimbledon’s 2-1 Sky Bet League One defeat at home to Fleetwood on Saturday. Mads’ withdrawl came on the back of a Luke O’Neill own-goal which gave Fleetwood the lead. Shane McLoughlin levelled before the break, but Paddy Madden netted the winner nine minutes from time. Despite defeat AFC remain six points above the drop zone with a home game against Ipswich Town coming up on Tuesday night.
