Stop the Stigma Around Men’s Mental Health

Men should seek professional help and manage their mental health, especially during the pandemic

There has long been a stigma around men and mental health, below is an infographic from Addiction Advocates exploring the issues men face and why we should stop the stigma towards men’s mental health.

The most common issues men are experiencing is depression, anxiety, PTSD and substance abuse disorders, affecting men the same as women. The infographic explores how many men are affected by these issues and the knock-on effect it has on suicide rates and substance abuse.

The infographic also explores the issue of toxic masculinity, which has long been cited as the reason many men believe they are not allowed to talk about their feelings. But men should seek professional help and manage their mental health, especially during the pandemic, when everyone is struggling to find a balance.
