Ref Watch: David Webb to take charge of Wednesday night's match

David Webb to take charge of match with Derby County

7 December 2020

On Wednesday night we welcome Derby County to the Brentford Community Stadium, and once again we will have fans in attendance. The man in the middle will be David Webb and you can find out more on the referee below…

Referee: David Webb
Assistant Referees: Robert Hyde and Bhupinder Gill
Fourth Official: Ian Cooper

David will take charge of us for the first time since our 3-1 win away from home at Barnsley last season- a match where Ollie Watkins netted a sensational hat-trick to give us all three points.

He was also in charge during our 3-0 win over Derby at Griffin Park last season where Bryan Mbuemo’s opener was followed up by a further two Watkins strikes.

This will be the first time this season that the referee will be in charge of one of our games, with his last match being in charge of Coventry City’s 3-1 win over Rotherham United. In 13 games as a referee this season, he has shown 41 yellow cards and two red cards- the last coming towards the end of November in a match between Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday.

Derby County 2020/21

33 yellow cards in Sky Bet Championship
0 red cards in Sky Bet Championship

Those who are not joining us on Wednesday night will be able to watch live on iFollow Brentford. As per EFL communication on the broadcast arrangements for the new season, all of a team's games not selected for live coverage by Sky Sports will only be available on that platform.
