THE OPPOSITION

The definition of a yo-yo team, Rotherham United have either been relegated from, or promoted to, the Championship in each of the past four seasons.

Paul Warne has overseen all of those campaigns and will be hoping that this time round The Millers can establish themselves in the second tier.

They have lost half of their 14 league games so far this campaign with their three wins coming against Wycombe Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday, and Preston North End.

Scoring goals hasn't been too much of a problem, with 14 to their name in as many games, but Warne will want to improve on just two clean sheets so far this term if they want to put more distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Freddie Ladapo (pictured above) is Rotherham's leading scorer with four while Joe Mattock has a pair of assists from left-back.

TEAM NEWS

Henrik Dalsgaard is a doubt with a hip flexor issue but other than Thomas has no fresh issues.

Former Bee Chiedozie Ogbene (knee) is one of a number of long-term Rotherham United absentees. Shaun MacDonald (broken leg), Clark Robertson (foot), and Kieran Sadlier (knee) are all out until at least the New Year. On a brighter note, Warne has been able to welcome back Mattock, Ladapo, and Richard Wood in recent weeks.

THE MANAGER

Paul Warne joined the coaching staff at United in May 2012, following his retirement from football. A striker in his career, he made over 450 professional league appearances across two spells at Rotherham. He also got game time at Wigan Athletic, Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town.

In November 2016, with Kenny Jackett heading out of the door, Warne was given the reins as caretaker-manager. In January that season, he was reluctantly handed the job until the end of the season. Growing into the role as time went on, Rotherham have kept faith with Warne through two relegations and been rewarded with instant promotions on both occasions.
