Loan Round-Up: Jan Žambůrek returns to action for Shrewsbury and potential game time for our players this weekend

The latest look at our players out on loan

11 December 2020

There was midweek action for one of our loan players recently with Jan Žambůrek returning to the field for Shrewsbury Town, but they fell to a 4-1 defeat as they crashed out of the Papa John's Trophy to Lincoln City.

The Shrews will now be looking to get back to winning ways but face a tough trip to high flying Hull City in Sky Bet League One. Steve Cotterill's side are 23rd in the table, and Jan will be hoping help the side to an improved result on the road after getting 90 minutes under his belt recently.

Elsewhere in the same competition Luka Racic missed Northampton Town's 2-1 win over Exeter City away from home. The Cobblers travelled to Devon and won it late on to progress to the next stage and will now prepare to travel to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday. Town are 16th in the Sky Bet League One table.

AFC Wimbledon continued without the injured Jaakko Oksanen as they took on Arsenal Under-21s in the midweek competition as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against an Arsenal side that were reduced to nine-men before the final whistle. Jaakko will be pushing to return from injury in the coming weeks to help out the League One side in the second half of the season.

Elsewhere in the Football League, Arthur Read's Stevenage were without a midweek game so they will have their attention fully focused on a tough trip north to Carlisle United this weekend. The side are unbeaten in their last four games and will be aiming to climb further up the league.

In the Premier League, Saïd Benrahma could feature for West Ham United when they take on Leeds United on Friday evening. The Hammers are 8th in the league table and are aiming to bounce back from defeat to Manchester United last time out.

On foreign soil, Halil Dervişoğlu will be aiming for more game time in an FC Twente side who will be buoyed by their 2-1 win over Ajax last weekend. The Dutch side take on eighth place AZ Alkmaar next and they'll be looking to build some momentum to climb higher than their current fifth position.

Patrik Gunnarsson and his Viborg FF side are still top of the Danish First Division and they're set to take on seventh place HB Køge. The side will be looking to strengthen their grip on top spot with Patrik still playing a key role for the side this season.

Legia Warsaw and Joel Valencia still sit top of the Ekstriklasa and they will travel to Wisła Kraków this weekend. The side have amassed 26 points from their 12 games and will be looking to pull further away from the chasing pack.

Kasımpaşa S.K. are at home to Denizlispor on Friday with the side 10th in the Süper Lig. Julian Jeanvier is still missing for the Turkish side due to injury.
